Associations Get a Helping Hand with Planettoday.com's Local Area Webs
Have
you been trying to find the best way to use the Internet but don't
know where to begin? Planettoday.com has the perfect solution using our
Local Area Webs (LAWs™), designed to provide timely and accessible
outlets for you to stay in touch with your membership. Owen Pegg,
for the York Region Prostate Cancer Support Group, decided to set
up a site from an Planettoday.com ad he saw in the local paper.

"Planettoday.com
offered a great opportunity to help in our efforts … It [the
web site] had only been up for a few hours when one of our
members got a phone call asking for more information."

'We
didn't have a site and really wanted to use the Internet to reach
a larger audience. Being a small volunteer organization we didn't
have the financial resources or technical know how to get things
going. Planettoday.com offered a great opportunity to help in our efforts.'
Planettoday.com
built the group a web
site so they could publish important dates for members, provide
links to other sites with relevant information about Prostate Cancer,
and allow individuals to register with the organization. And the
site works. According to Pegg, 'It had only been up for a few hours
when one of our members got a phone call asking for more information.
There are no visible symptoms and ignorance about the disease is
a very high. We want to make people aware that you need to have
regular checkups with your family doctor especially after the age
of 40. This is the only way to really detect early warning signs
about the disease.'
Planettoday.com
is committed to being your community advocate, acting as a local
hub of interactive information and e-commerce. We offer a simple
method for publishing, sharing, co-editing, integrating, transacting,
collecting, and messaging information. Our LAW™ software enables
you to manage your own self-serve LAW™ page directly via your Internet
browser, without any programming knowledge. This unique feature
will save you, your association and your membership a great deal
of time and money. All you have to do is update your site as often
as you can with your latest newsletters, schedules, etc.
'I
intend to keep the site updated regularly,' says Pegg. 'People will
only keep going back to your site if they find it useful.'
Once
your site is created make sure to encourage your membership to use
it. The more your members use Planettoday.com, the more money you can make.
Any club or association who refers their membership can earn 'Clix'
loyalty points through the activities and e-commerce of their association
members on any of the Planettoday.com LAWs™. These 'Clix' turn into real
dollars that are redeemable as a charitable cash donation in January
of each year.
